Speaking at the well-attended function, Vijay said that the flag for his fans association does not mean that he is nursing ambitions to enter into politics. He also insisted that one need not be a politician to do good to the society. The white color flag had a blue circle in the middle with Vijay’s photo imprinted on it. “With this flag, I am not launching a party or entering politics. A friend of mine from Erode wanted me to have a flag and start a party. I refused to start a party, and so I launched the flag. It is not necessary to be in politics to do good things for the people. All you need is good intensions.”
Actor Vijay’s father director S.A. Chandrasekar said the flag was launched to encourage the fan clubs to keep up their good deeds.
“You cannot build a fan following with money; what you need is a good heart that knows to give. And Vijay’s fans do not have to be told to do good deeds. The flag will show the right path these youngsters must tread.”
