Gandhi foundation submitted a memorandum to revoke LAL's Padmashree for acting in an Advertisement for Liquor company. They threatened to boycott Lal's films if it is not done or LAL doesn't cancel the add.
Lalunnies shame...shame.....what a pathetic situation after earning millions still lal is so greedy to act in these type of ads, which could mislead the youth and children..
This cannot be considered as personal life, because it effects the community and we in forumkerala should seriously discuss it and pressurise lal to withdraw from this ad...

But one thing I dont understand. Mahatma Gandhi National Foundation threaten saying they wud boycott Mohanlal films. Now whose number is higher in Kerala - Gandhi Foundation members or Mohanlal Fans?

I think gandhi foundation is right in the decision, as Lal is such a respected and followed personality in kerala, he could really mislead a lot of children and youth. It's a big blunder lal did. And his moral values are questioned here. There are lakhs of die hard lal fans, who can think that liquor is an ok thing..as their idol itself is promoting it....

Yes I agree it is a social issue. But my question is can Gandhi Foundation simply make the entire Kerala boycott Lal films?
There was a report that Lal disagreed to do that commertial some months ago. Now this. If this is true. It is a bad act from Lal. Boycotting the movie is not an apt thing. because it is art. But Revoking padmasree will be a apt reply for lal for doing such a thing. Because Padmasree cannot be given to irresponsable persons. Actor and personal life are different.

When the star's personal life affects the society, then it matters.
Guessme- What I meant is it may not affect lal's movies now. But the families which could decide a moive's fate in long run could decide to boycott lal's films, once they know that the star is misleading their children. U know lal's movies after "thandavam" which was completely moved the families away from lal's movies...
